Love love.

I love love.  I wear my heart on my sleeve. and that's ok with me.  Maybe it get's a little emotional, but I guess I'd rather feel something at some point, than nothing ever.  Or something.

It does, however, appear to be something among the guys in my class (at least those that I have been mini-crushing on.. which, btw. poor idea) that they've never been in relationships, and don't want one.  To me, not ever being in a relationship and you're post-grad is a red flag for me.  A huge one.  I get that people are commitment-phobic, or whatever.. but never having a relationship?  Very curious.  And sad.

Well. I've been in love. twice.  and yeah, there are times where it's massively hard, but when it's good, it's amazing.  You can't describe how just. great. it is.  And of course, I've had some massively terrible dates, and guys I've dated, but my last relationship with JP keeps me optimistic I guess.  Even though generally guys can be (and usually are, sorry y'all) extremely selfish and overall dummies, they aren't all jerks.  Maybe if I didn't have such a nice and good guy as my last bf, I wouldn't keep wearing my heart on my sleeve in hopes for that again... but who even knows.


And really, idk what I'm doing as a single girl.  I'm quite terrible at it, but I'm learning to enjoy myself more and more throughout this process.  After this break, I'm getting back into my hobbies that I want to make time for (which is hindered by being slightly boy-crazy as of late).  So back to running with Coops more, pilates, painting, music, fostering my new friendships in NOLA etc.  Also, keeping my guy friends just as guy friends.  That should be somewhere on the list.. a challenge for me for sure haha.

Moving to NOLA

Well this past week has been a really busy one.  I've moved into my new apartment in NOLA and I'm absolutely in love with my neighborhood, and the city.  I've still got lots to do before I officially start school.. but here's how it's all coming together so far!

And look at this amazing meal.  It was grilled on the sidewalk 2 blocks from my apartment outside the local bodega.  BBQ chicken and ribs..?  Yes please.  Every Saturday, and for cheap.  This city is after my own heart.

And this is life.

So first of all.  He's ok.  He actually made it on his Africa trip (and thus our break-up since I would be gone to NOLA by the time he gets back) -- which we didn't find out he was going on until a few hours before his flight left.

He was hit on his bike by a car that was not paying attention and pretty much t-boned him.  He's in good spirits, although it has really shaken up me and his friends.  He broke his arm and nose.. and her windshield.. and she was the first to apologize and call the ambulance.

It really put a damper on our farewell plans.. well ruined them.. but we made the best of it.  There wasn't much else we could do.. but I am so thankful he wasn't hurt worse.  

And since he was off to Ghana, he made sure to get red, white, and blue colored cast for to rep the US in the world cup.

Goodbye Durham!

So these last few days (and weeks) I've been so busy with my move -- and it's official!  I'm out of Durham (and the Triangle) and off onto the next chapter -- medical school!  So for the next few weeks, I'm a free bird, wandering NC and GA with my handsome dog and visiting family and friends until I move into my apartment in New Orleans.  

One of these days I just want to sit on a porch, with a glass of sangria, and catch up on my google reader.  I hope everyone's enjoying their official first day of summer!

Update your Bookmarks!

I've decided that with the evolution of this blog, I will change the link for it.  I'll begin with the new link on Friday to give all ya'll a chance to update your links.  I was originally designing this blog to much of a food blog, as I tend to enjoy cooking and wanted to document that. Back at it.

It appears I may have fallen back from everything for the past few weeks -- this blog, cleaning/organizing my apartment, emails, work -- however, I'm back.

For at least a few days. It's been a whirlwind, and I apologize for the back posting, but I should have finished and queued these up before I left for the holidays.

and since I'm the only one really here at work until Wednesday (slackers) I'll be updating my blog ad nauseum. get pummpppeddd.
