Brazillian Style

I miss Brazil. A lot. I spent 6 weeks there in college volunteering and fell in love with it. Everyone there is so laid back and friendly, the food is amazing, and the drinks were divine. I had the best time, learned a lot, and met great people all while working in the medical field which will soon become my whole life.

The Sartorialist has recently been snapping some great style shots of people in Brazil (specifically Rio, not where I was, but we did travel there), and I adore these looks. It is the essence of the women in Rio -- bright colors and not afraid to show some skin. Just plain gorgeous. Here are my favorites of their latest piece:

This is one of my very favorite pictures of Coop and JP. Now I know I don't mention the boy that often, but he's a good guy. And he and Cooper are the cutest together.

Friday night is our first date night in a while, and I think I have JUST the outfit for it. I'm trying to do better about doing my daily wears, so I'll make an effort to take a picture of it.

I was looking through some of my drafted posts and found this from about a month back -- I love these images of these handsome dogs on great furniture. Once Cooper is through this pro-submissive bootcamp (he's a bit of a dominant dog, and we're trying to take as much of the alpha-maleness out of him so he can play well with others), I would love to do a photoshoot like this with him on my red couch.

Now. I don't like a whole lot of types of girls. The girls that become "my girls" are a special breed of woman and once you make it to that point, I'm ride or die for you.

Things I don't like?
-laziness
-trashy girls
-drama girls
-girls who always need to have a guys attention. always.
-girls who get engaged at a young ass age (can you wait til graduation?)
-people who can't live alone. or be alone.
-needy girls
-girls who cling to their sig other

..well you get the picture. that being said. I need to keep an open mind. Case in point.. there's this girl who goes to school where I work, she's young. and of course, engaged. from what I can see she seems to be a really fun girl, but may be attached at the hip to her fiancee. And, well, we're going to be classmates.

I know I need to start keeping an open mind about people, b/c you never know who you'll be friends with.. and I get that. But there are some things that inately bother me, such as the aforementioned list. And I also know, I will be practically eating, breathing, sleeping around these people for 4 years, so we better figure out a way to be friends. I can get along with everyone -- but only a handful make it to "my girls" status.

And I think I'm ok with that.

But at the same time, I need to learn not to write people off immediately just because one thing about them really bothers me.

..and then I think.. should I really compromise..?

It's a tough call.

Now, if you know me, you know that I adore Burberry. My mom has begun my obsession in college when my birthday/grad presents entailed some pieces that are now my wardrobe staples. Their new collabo with Colette has me really excited. Take a look:

Latest Obsession: Flower Tattoos

So currently I have 5 tattoos -- and absolutely love them. But it's been a while since my last one, and I think I'm ready for the next one. As S$ refers to it -- "the itch".

All my tattoos mean something to me and represent a different point in my life... and now I view them as beautiful artwork as well. I think these are so gorgeous and are my inspiration for my next piece -- although I'm contemplating a lot of different places to put them.. hmm..

Winter is a really hard time for me -- I don't do well in the cold, and I generally hate wearing pants. Colored tights and I are usually best friends throughout all the seasons, but every once in while when it dips below freezing, I must wear pants (and since I'm terrible at being cold, they're paired with my CuddleDuds).

Since I'm pretty far behind on these posts, the following outfits are from a warmer time of late fall, early winter. But now that January here -- it's all layers, and jeans. Can't wait for the spring!

Happy New Year!

I went up to see S$ for New Year's and although it was freezing, we looked killer and had an amazing time:

And it wouldn't be a NYE post without some new year's resolutions, and hopefully I can stick with them:

1. Get in shape
2. Eat better
3. Spend less and save money
4. Cook more, and eat out less
5. Be more organized and neat (esp around the apartment)

I mean, really, these are all life goals that I need to do before heading to med school -- any habits I get now will follow me on for life (maybe?!) and I can be the successful, organized, and fly adult I need to be in my mid-late 20s and beyond.
